Thin veneer in ¾"-2" thick stone, typically used for application in the interior/exterior of houses, fireplaces and other wall applications where weight and installation time are a factor. Thin veneer, because of its light weight (generally less than 15lbs per square foot) does not require a weight bearing foundation.
Thin veneer is available in two categories. The first is naturally split, which means it is naturally sorted or split for ¾" to 2" thickness as it occurs in the quarry. The second category is stone that is sawn thin out of full thickness building stone, such as our Natural Stone Solutions,
NSS Stone line. The difference between the two is that naturally split thin veneer is fairly flat in appearance on the wall and is available only in flats. In this case, corners would show the 2" thickness of the stone. Natural Stone Solutions,
NSS Stone thin veneer is less flat looking and is available in corner pieces or "L" shaped pieces which wrap around corners and give the appearance of a full of 4"-6" veneer stone on corners.
Additionally Natural Stone Solutions, NSS Stone has a sawn or smooth back , which creates a kind of mortar suction to the wall during application. This makes it quick and easy to
install.
